Methodology & Limitations

This platform was built as a training and self-reflection tool, not as a research instrument. To be transparent about that, here is exactly how the challenges are constructed and where their limits lie.

How the Challenges Are Constructed

How Scoring Works

Two Formulas

๐Ÿ“Š Relative Error Formula

Used for measurable quantities like weight, force, angle, duration and count. Score = 100 minus the percentage error between your answer and the true value.

๐ŸŽฏ Proximity Formula

Used for memory, position and reaction tasks. The closer your selection or click, the higher the score.

Both formulas output a standardized score from 0 to 100.

Subcategory and Overall Scores

โ— A subcategory average of 75 or higher unlocks its mastery badge and lights it up green in the challenge selector.
โ— Your overall Intuition Score is the mean of your five category averages, expressed out of 100.
โ— As you play more levels, your score becomes more stable and more representative of your real calibration.

Limitations

โš ๏ธ Not Psychometrically Validated: The tests have no published norms, no reliability coefficients, and no peer-reviewed validation studies.
๐Ÿ“ฑ Device-Dependent: Scores are not comparable across devices. Screen size, touch latency, and hardware performance affect reaction and timing tasks.
โ˜• Daily Variations: Nothing is standardized across sessions. Day-to-day variability in attention, sleep, caffeine, and mood affects scores more than most people expect.
๐ŸŽฏ Pure Estimation: The tests measure estimation, not general intelligence, personality, or any clinical trait.
๐Ÿšซ Non-Diagnostic: Scores do not indicate any medical, psychological, or professional characteristic and should not be used for assessment of any kind.

What the Tests Are Useful For

๐Ÿ“Œ Personal Benchmarking Seeing where your intuition is naturally calibrated and where it systematically drifts.
๐Ÿ“ˆ Tracking Improvement Many users report that after a week of play, time and quantity estimation scores noticeably improve.
๐Ÿชž Self-Reflection Understanding your estimation biases helps you know when to trust your gut vs calculate.
๐Ÿ“… Daily Calibration The daily challenge is a short, structured way to check in with your intuitive accuracy.

If you are looking for validated cognitive assessments, consult a licensed psychologist. This platform is a training tool, not a diagnostic one.
